Christian Rasmussen has extended his contract with Ajax. The eighteen-year-old striker was stuck in the Johan Cruijff ArenA for another year, but has reached an agreement on a contract extension until mid-2024. The Danish center striker played for Jong Ajax last season and played a total of sixteen matches in the Kitchen Champion Division.

Rasmussen came in the summer of 2019 for a transfer fee of three million from Nordsjaelland, where he completed the youth academy. In his opening season, the striker played matches on behalf of Ajax Under-17 and Ajax Under-18, before making his professional football debut in August 2020. Rasmussen made his debut during Jong Ajax’s 0-4 victory over Roda JC Kerkrade. Although the attacker already came to 563 playing minutes with the Amsterdam promises, he was not yet able to score.

A contract extension was already in the air, as he was allowed to join the A-selection at the training camp in De Lutte. Rasmussen could count on playing minutes against Koninklijke HFC and Paderborn. “I am happy and proud”, Rasmussen responds with pleasure to the official Ajax website. “My family is too. I want to make my debut in Ajax 1 this season, that is my goal. become value.”

“It was nice to play with those big players,” continues Rasmussen. “They have a lot of experience, so that was a great opportunity. You certainly learn a lot about the playing style, because when you get the ball you have to think a lot and know what you want to do,” said the Dane, who is also busy learning the Dutch language. “I have been working with a language teacher for a year and a half now, twice a day. I have worked hard on that. The first half year it took some getting used to here, with a different family, language and environment. But now it is good and I feel here at home.”
