Ajax and Enric Llansana have reached an agreement about the extension of his contract, the team from Amsterdam report via the official channels. The twenty-year-old defensive midfielder had an expiring contract, which has been extended until mid-2023.

Llansana, who has a Spanish and Dutch passport, was snatched away by Ajax in 2012 from amateur club VPV Purmersteijn. The midfielder made his debut for Young Ajax on March 25, 2019 in the Kitchen Champion Division. Last season, Llansana was a regular base player for the U23 team, making 33 league appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists.

For the time being, Llansana was not eligible for playing minutes in Ajax’s main squad, although trainer Erik ten Hag let him sit on the bench a few times last season. The Spanish-Dutch player also plays in 27 youth international matches for five different representative teams.
