Ajax won on Friday afternoon against the Greek Conference League champion Olympiacos (1-0). After the match, analyst Youri Mulder says that he noticed the shouting of coach Francesco Farioli. Taylor understands Mulder and says that it sometimes becomes too much for him. “At a certain point you think: not for a while.

“We were standing behind the bench for a while,” Mulder says. Ziggo Sport. “What we noticed is that Farioli and two assistants and someone else in the dugout all started shouting the same thing in a standard situation. I think I saw you looking once too, like: it's such a chicken coop now, it's getting a bit too much. “As a player I would think: just keep your mouth shut for a moment.”

Taylor thinks the discipline Farioli has brought in is good. “I think it's good for us at the moment. I understand what you mean and at some point you think: not for a while” laughs Taylor, “but I think it's good for us as a team at the moment that we're kept on our toes all the time.”

“At this moment I think it's only good, but as I said: I understand what you mean.” Taylor also knows that a practice field in Tiel, where they won against Olympiacos on Friday, is different from a packed Johan Cruijff ArenA. “Then you hear it less.”

Ajax played a good first half, in which it managed to score once via Carlos Forbs, and a lesser second. Despite a few Greek chances, Ajax managed to drag the practice victory towards itself. It is already the fourth practice victory in a row for Ajax, who slowly but surely seem to get used to the playing style implemented by Farioli.

“It does take a lot of energy,” Taylor agrees. “But we've had a really tough preparation. I don't really notice it myself. I think we're all fit. It may take a lot of energy, but because we also have a lot of effort put into it, I think all in all it's pretty good.”

On Thursday, Ajax will play the first preliminary round match in the Europa League against FK Vojvodina in their own Johan Cruijff ArenA. “Of course it has to work out,” Taylor is confident. “We just have to continue in Europe and that is certainly our goal. We will definitely go for that one hundred percent.”
