Ajax broke a dubious club record in the 23rd round of the Eredivisie. Ahmetcan Kaplan, who made his official debut against AZ (2-0 loss), was already the 34th player that Ajax used this season, as calculated Opta.

Never before has Ajax used so many different players in the competition in one season. It should also be noted that the Eredivisie season still lasts eleven rounds.

Ajax does not yet have the Eredivisie record. This is in the name of ADO Den Haag, which tried to avert relegation from the Eredivisie with no fewer than 37 different players in the dramatic 2020/21 season.

At the time, ADO's trainer, Aleksandar Rankovic, was also quickly exchanged (for Ruud Brood), but despite all efforts, ADO was relegated to the Kitchen Champion Division.

Four times in the past a club has fielded 36 different players in an Eredivisie season. Twice it concerned FC Utrecht (season 2014/15 and 2021/22). PSV also used 36 players in the 2020/21 season, just like FC Groningen in the 2022/23 relegation year.

Kian Fitz-Jim could become the 35th player that Ajax uses for the remainder of the season. The midfielder was recalled from his loan at Excelsior in January and is structurally on the bench. Fitz-Jim has not yet had any playing minutes at Ajax this season.
