Ajax and PSV are both after Chiquinho, as you know A Bola to be revealed on Monday. Benfica is reportedly not unsympathetic to an interim departure of the 25-year-old midfielder, who has no permanent place at the top club from Portugal. It is not yet known what minimum Benfica wishes to have left from the sale of Chiquinho, which has been fixed for another three years.

Chiquinho is an attacking midfielder who can also act as a shadow striker. The Portuguese, coveted by Ajax and PSV, closed last season with only 341 playing minutes in competition, spread over eighteen matches. Trainer Jorge Jesus awarded him a starting spot in only 7 of the 27 matches he played in all competitions. Partly because of this, according to the above newspaper, Chiquinho has the opportunity to look for another club.

The midfielder could have left Benfica in the winter break of last season. Torino was very close to signing Chiquinho, but Jorge Jesus put a stop to that at the last minute. Partly due to the various corona cases at Benfica, the trainer did not want to let him go, because the selection would then become very narrow. An interim transition to Serie A therefore fell through the water.

Ajax and PSV are not the only clubs interested in Chiquinho. A Bola reports Monday that Galatasaray, Dinamo Moscow, FK Krasnodar and Spartak Moscow, where Portuguese Rui Vitoria is at the helm, are also in the market for the attacking midfielder. It is not yet clear which club or league will be preferred by Chiquinho, who will be celebrating his 26th birthday next month.
