Latest update:

Ajax and FC Nordsjaelland will soon discuss a possible transfer of Christian Rasmussen. The 21-year-old striker is currently rented out by the Amsterdam team to Nordsjaelland, but that team wants to make the deal permanent and take over Rasmussen permanently. This is what head coach Johannes Thorup tells us Bold.

Last summer, Ajax and Rasmussen came to the conclusion that a rental period for this season would be the best option. Nordsjaelland reported to Amsterdam and reached an agreement on rental with option to purchase. A longer stay at the Danish top club may now be possible.

“We will of course discuss this with him,” says Thorup about a potential deal. “And then we will also have to deal with the club where he is still under contract. These are important conversations.”

“I think he is a talented player and he has a lot of potential. The most important thing for him now is that he chooses a good environment where he can play regularly.”

If Rasmussen actually leaves for Nordsjaelland permanently, it will mean a permanent return to his old employer. The Danish youth international comes from the youth academy of Nordsjaelland.

In the summer of 2019, Ajax picked up Rasmussen in Denmark. The record champion of the Netherlands transferred three million euros to acquire the talented attacker. After four seasons with various Ajax youth teams, the club and player decided to part ways, temporarily or otherwise.

Rasmussen eventually played three matches in Ajax's main squad. He came on twice during an Eredivisie match, once he was allowed to appear in the TOTO KNVB Cup.
