Ajax defeated Heracles Almelo in a high-scoring match on Saturday evening. The team from Amsterdam once again showed the great defensive vulnerability of the team at Erve Asito and conceded two goals, but also scored four goals: 2-4. These were in the names of Brian Brobbey (two), Steven Berghuis and Kristian Hlynsson. Ajax is equal on points with number four AZ, which will visit SC Heerenveen on Sunday. Heracles is in fifteenth place, just above the relegation zone.

Heracles took the lead in the twelfth minute through Jizz Hornkamp. Jannes Wieckhoff played Ar'Jany Martha simply and had an excellent pass to the striker, which escaped the attention of Jorrel Hato. Hornkamp was suddenly released for Diant Ramaj, who had no chance on his placed shot: 1-0.

Ajax hit back within four minutes. Brian Brobbey was played by Benjamin Tahirovic in the penalty area with his back to the goal. After his acceptance, the Ajax attacker surprisingly suddenly shot into the roof of the goal: 1-1.

In the remainder of the first half, Heracles mainly had to defend, but Ajax was not given many opportunities. Steven Berghuis cut down his opponent after half an hour and therefore had a shooting opportunity with the right, but could not surprise goalkeeper Michael Brouwer from the difficult angle that emerged.

A minute later, Brobbey was completely free in the penalty area. Ajax's target man played around Brouwer and almost ended up on the back line. His shot ended up in the side netting.

Ajax started the second half very strongly and scored in minutes 55 and 57. A good through ball from Kristian Hlynsson released Berghuis for Brouwer. Berghuis found the far corner with a placed shot: 1-2. Brobbey then took advantage of a major misjudgment by Sava-Arangel Cestic, so that the striker suddenly found himself one-on-one with Brouwer after a long ball from Hato. Brobbey didn't hesitate and scored beautifully off the bounce: 1-3.

The match was far from over, as Heracles found the tying goal within two minutes. A shot by substitute Mario Engels deflected off Hato's thigh, leaving goalkeeper Ramaj without a chance: 2-3.

Heracles then had opportunities to equalize. Ramaj saved on Engels' diagonal shot, which was released after an unnecessary loss of ball by Tristan Gooijer. A good cross from Wieckhoff then reached Hornkamp, who suddenly lashed out but shot straight at Ramaj.

After that there were opportunities for Ajax. Hlynsson first bumped into Brouwer's feet, but the Icelandic number 10 still managed to score in the 84th minute. After a beautiful assumption, Hlynsson shot in from sixteen meters: 2-4.
