Fulco van Kooperen finds an amount of ‘around six million euros’ plus a resale percentage that is in line with the market for his client Joey Veerman. The agent confirms Thursday to The Telegraph that Feyenoord ‘would like’ to strengthen itself with Veerman, whose contract with sc Heerenveen runs until mid-2024. If Heerenveen asks for a significantly higher amount, a transfer from the 23-year-old playmaker will be difficult to realize.
Feyenoord also preyed on Veerman in the summer, as did AZ. There was no transfer. Van Kooperen disputes the rumor that Heerenveen demanded an amount of ten million euros at the time. “Heerenveen never mentioned that amount,” he assures. Nevertheless, Heerenveen ultimately did not want to cooperate in a transfer, because the interested clubs reported ‘quite late’ in Friesland. “Heerenveen has now said: if we know in time, so not on January 20 or something like that, then we want to think along.”

The question remains for what amount Veerman could leave. “What is a reasonable value for him in the Netherlands? I think around six million and resale”, the agent thinks aloud. “If they start asking Feyenoord eight million, it will be difficult. Just like for AZ, which also had extensive interest. Heerenveen also knows that, because they did not receive the amounts. That is why he did not leave last summer. But now he has to go and they know that too. That’s why Heerenveen want to participate in a transfer. But for how much?”
The higher the fixed transfer fee, the lower the resale percentage, Van Kooperen knows. The same applies vice versa. “AZ was around five million and twenty percent resale last summer. Heerenveen did not do that, because they could not get anyone. That argument no longer applies: now they know in time,” said the representative, who agrees that Veerman likes take a step higher. “I think Feyenoord suits him very well.” Veerman played against Feyenoord with Heerenveen on Wednesday evening (0-3 defeat). The Rotterdammers have already made an offer, but the amount is unknown.
