In the night from Friday to Sunday there was an explosion at café Vak West, which is known for many Ajax supporters coming. The police assume that heavy fireworks were used in the explosion, which killed a window. It is being investigated whether the explosion is related to the incidents at Feyenoord cafes earlier this week.

In the night from Thursday to Friday, an explosion took place at café The Hide Away on the Kreekplein in Rotterdam, after café ‘t Haantje op Zuid was targeted earlier in the week. Almost simultaneously with the explosion at The Hide Away, an explosive went off in the Rotterdam district of Hoogvliet. Eight families had to leave their homes temporarily as a result. Later in the night from Thursday to Friday there was an explosion at an apartment building in Rotterdam-Schiebroek. In this case too, people had to temporarily leave their homes. A firework bomb would have been used.

Whether there is a connection between the explosions at The Hide Away and café ‘t Haantje, the Rotterdam police could not yet say. No announcements could be made about a possible connection with the Classic against Ajax on Sunday. It is now being investigated whether the explosion in Amsterdam is related to the previous incidents in Rotterdam. A 21-year-old Amsterdammer was arrested for this on Friday evening. The fireworks explosion at café Vak West in Amsterdam-West took place on Friday evening around 11.30 pm. There were no injuries from the explosion, although a window was killed.
