Photos of Ajax’s alleged new home shirt for the 2023/24 season are circulating on social media. The jersey differs greatly from the classic Ajax shirt and is widely rejected by supporters and other football fans. “Brrrrrrrr what is this?! An absolute monstrosity”, is one of the reactions on Twitter.
The alleged new Ajax shirt is mainly criticized for the interrupted red stripe, the three red Adidas stripes on the shoulders and ‘the hideous’ V-neck. Adidas seems to have chosen to place their own logo, that of Ajax and that of main sponsor Ziggo, below each other in the middle lane for the first time. That, too, falls short of the rank and file. The new shirt also adds a red vertical stripe in the side, which also received little approval.

We are waiting for the official unveiling of Ajax. Last week, the team from Amsterdam announced what the away shirt for next season will look like. The shirt has white as a base color and a dark blue accent color. It is the first time since 1988/89 that white is the basic color of the away kit. That was not possible for long, because the away shirt would not contrast enough with the home colours, but the introduction of a third shirt now makes it possible.
