Aaron Meijers leaves ADO The Hague, so it reports Algemeen Dagblad. The 32-year-old left back and midfielder makes the switch to Sparta Rotterdam on a rental basis, while Lassana Faye takes the opposite route. Meijers has a contract until mid-2022 in The Hague, but will probably not return. Sparta and ADO have agreed that consultations will be held at a later stage about a possible definitive transfer of Meijers.

Meijers played for ADO Den Haag since 2012 and is not the first familiar face to leave the club this summer. Earlier, Tom Beugelsdijk already transferred to Sparta Rotterdam, while Lex made a transfer to NAC Breda. Meijers, who was educated at FC Volendam and also played for RKC Waalwijk, had a relatively heavy budget with his salary and was therefore allowed to leave.

Faye has an expiring contract with Sparta and doesn’t want a new commitment. The 22-year-old leftback is hired by ADO for a season. According to the newspaper Faye in The Hague sees a fast, expolsive back what they were looking for. For the club from The Hague the deal is financially attractive. After the departure of Erik Falkenburg (Roda JC), Beugelsdijk and Meijers, the club has created enough financial space to get another Eredivisie worthy player this transfer summer.
