Ajax and Dusan Tadic are not bored with each other yet. Wednesday reported The Telegraph that the captain will sign a new mega contract in Amsterdam: his contract as a player will be extended by one year until mid-2024, after which Tadic can work as a (youth) trainer until mid-2027. In conversation with the General Newspaper Tadic explains why he gave up on a move to AC Milan and signed with Ajax.

“Everything about Ajax is special. The way of playing, the philosophy,” says the striker. “AC Milan may be in the top ten in Europe, but so is Ajax. And Ajax is the most beautiful of all.” Tadic may be 32 years old, but his condition is not deteriorating. He is known as someone who always wants to get the most out of himself, even when he was on holiday on the Greek island of Mykonos this summer. “Wake up with abs and running every day.”

He tries to convince his teammates to show the same mentality. “That you not only have to get stronger because you want to get stronger, but also to prevent injuries. And that you can show more on the field. Also drink a lot of water. I drink about six liters a day. But also technically : pass the ball there and not there. Possibly also with video fragments. You try to help young players in every possible way.”

Tadic says he ‘normally’ starts working as a trainer after his active career. “I still have to see if it’s really something for me and now I mainly focus on my career as a player. But if I want to stay active in football, becoming a trainer is a great alternative, I think. And I have it there. talent for it, I guess.”
