AS Roma hopes to stop the impending transfer of Artem Dovbyk to Atlético Madrid, writes Gianluca Di Marzio. The Madrilenians have already reached a personal agreement with the Ukrainian striker, but there is no definitive deal with Girona yet. Roma, who are desperately looking for a striker, now hopes to take advantage of that.

Dovbyk has a buyout clause of 40 million euros in his contract with Girona, but it will most likely be a package deal that could rise to that amount, it was said. It would involve 32 million euros fixed plus 6 to 7 million in bonuses.

Earlier in the day, there were rumors in Spain that an Italian club wanted to hijack the deal between Girona, Dovbyk and Atleti and it now turns out that it is Roma. The Giallorossi will examine in the coming days to what extent Dovbyk's arrival at Stadio Olimpico is feasible.

With the imminent departure of Dovbyk, to Madrid or Rome, Girona sees another key player from the successful year leave. Earlier it was announced that midfielder Aleix García will continue his career at Bayer Leverkusen, who paid 18 million euros for his services.

Roma are also still in the race for Villarreal attacker Alexander Sørloth. The Norwegian is said to be interested in a transfer to Serie A, but Roma have not yet reached an agreement with Villarreal. Metteo Moretto of Relevo knows that Roma has increased his offer to thirty million euros. It seems that Roma is playing chess on multiple boards.

Soule

Roma is now close to the arrival of Matías Soulé. Roma and Juventus, where the 21-year-old Argentine is contracted until mid-2026, are close to an agreement on the transfer fee, bonuses and the resale percentage. The basic amount is reportedly around thirty million euros.

Soulé, who was also the subject of strong interest from Leicester City, has a clear preference for Roma and is close to securing his transfer. Soulé will earn around two million euros per season and will face two compatriots in Rome: Paulo Dybala and Leandro Paredes.
