Latest update:
Morocco and Argentina provided a spectacle at the Olympic Games. Top favorite Argentina seemed on its way to defeat, but managed to produce the equalizer in minute 90+16 (!). Shortly after that moment, things went wrong for a part of the Moroccan fans.
Particularities:
After a wonderful attack on the right, dispensation player Achraf Hakimi gave a sharp cross towards the goal, which Soufiane Rahimi gratefully took advantage of: 0-1. Ajax goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli had to fish again five minutes after the break. Rulli did dive into the right corner, but Rahimi's penalty was simply too accurate: 0-2.
Argentina, where besides Rulli also Nicolás Otamendi, Thiago Almada and Julián Álvarez were in the starting line-up, fought their way back into the match. First, they made the connecting goal via Giuliano Simeone, son of, who tapped in at the far post: 1-2.
It seemed to stay that way, but nothing could be further from the truth. After a bizarre scrimmage, including two shots on the crossbar, Cristian Media still managed to head the equalizer into the net: 2-2.
