Latest update:

Ajax and Dies Janse have reached an agreement on a contract extension, the club announced via official channels. His contract in the Johan Cruijff ArenA, which runs until mid-2026, has been reopened and extended until mid-2028, with the option for another year. Janse's contract extension was considered a top priority in Amsterdam, as he is expected to play a major role in the future.

Janse is playing with Ajax 1 this preparation and makes an exceptionally strong impression. Francesco Farioli is charmed by the Zeeuw and has already given him playing time in several practice matches.

It is unclear what Janse's role will be this year, but Ajax sees him as 'a boy for the future'. In turn, the youth international is convinced of the plan that the Amsterdammers have outlined.

Janse has signed a new contract until mid-2028, with Ajax given the option to extend his contract for an additional season.

Janse has been with Ajax since 2020. At that time, the record champion took over the defender from Sparta Rotterdam, where he had spent two years.

Janse is a left-footer who can be deployed as both a centre-back and a left-back. Farioli has so far used 'the surprise of the preparation' exclusively in the first-mentioned position.

Last Friday, Janse played ninety minutes in the won friendly match against Conference League winner Olympiakos (1-0). He formed the central duo with the right-footed Josip Sutalo.
