Ilias Sebaoui will play for sc Heerenveen on loan next season, the Frisian club and Feyenoord announced on Tuesday via official channels. The 22-year-old from Antwerp will be loaned without an option to buy. Sebaoui will play in Heerenveen with shirt number 17.

General manager Ferry de Haan is pleased with the arrival of Sebaoui, as he announced through the official channels. “With the arrival of Ilias, the wing positions are double occupied. Ilias is technically skilled, has a good dribble and can be decisive with his qualities. We are pleased that we can have him at our disposal next season.”

Sebaoui was one of the best players in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie last season. His period at FC Dordrecht earned him a contract extension at Feyenoord, where he is now contracted until mid-2026, with an option for an extra year.

In recent days, there were rumors that Heerenveen would use a purchase option in Sebaoui's rental contract, but that is not the case. Due to the great competition at Feyenoord, the club was once again open to a rental period for the Moroccan Belgian, who will now be able to show his worth at the highest level at Heerenveen.

Sebaoui, who mainly plays as a left winger, will compete with Danilo Al-Saed and Osame Sahraoui at the Abe Lenstra Stadium. The latter will most likely move abroad, while Al-Saed can also play on the right flank.

It was still exciting for Heerenveen whether Sebaoui would opt for a temporary move to the Abe Lenstra Stadium, because NAC Breda also reported for the 22-year-old right-footer at the last moment. Sebaoui, however, chooses Heerenveen. In addition to Al-Saed and Sebaoui, Heerenveen also strengthened itself this transfer period with Amara Condé, Levi Smans, Sam Kersten and Mateja Milovanovic.
