Latest update:

Manchester City have approached Gianluigi Donnarumma (25), transfer journalist Ben Jacobs assured on Monday. The Citizens fear a departure from their current first choice goalkeeper Ederson and are apparently exploring the market for a possible replacement.

Jacobs immediately places a caveat to the news. The Italian goalie is said to be happy at Paris Saint-Germain and is not necessarily looking to leave. Donnarumma and his employer have also had discussions about a possible contract extension in Paris, it is said.

However, Manchester City does not seem completely hopeless. “It is known that Donnarumma would like to play in the Premier League at some point in his career,” the English journalist writes on X.

The 66-time international of in Azzurri has been under contract with PSG since the summer of 2021, who signed him on a free transfer from AC Milan. Donnarumma has a contract at the Parc des Princes that runs until mid-2026.

Pep Guardiola and co are apparently preparing for Ederson's departure. The Brazilian is enjoying concrete interest from Ittihad Club, although the team from Saudi Arabia is not yet willing to meet the asking price of sixty million euros.

Ederson himself would like to leave for the Saudi Pro League, as Fabrizio Romano already reported. Manchester City may resolve his departure internally.

The reigning champions of England have a very nice goalkeeper in Stefan Ortega. The German has acted as a stand-in for Ederson in previous years, but Guardiola reportedly sees him as a full-fledged replacement for Ederson.
