Feyenoord will leave for a training camp in Austria on Monday, but will do so without Gernot Trauner. The centre-back sustained an injury at the European Championship in Germany and will need the coming period to recover, the Rotterdam team writes. Justin Bijlow and Lutsharel Geertruida will be there.

For the new head coach Brian Priske it will be his first training camp with Feyenoord. The Dane has selected thirty players for the trip to the Alpine country.

Trauner is not one of them. The Austrian returned from Germany with an injury, although Feyenoord is not communicating anything about the nature of that injury. Quilindschy Hartman is also not there due to an injury.

Jaden Slory will board the plane a week later due to physical complaints. Quinten Timber, Julián Carranza and Gijs Smal, all in rehabilitation, will leave for Austria on Monday, where they will 'follow an individual program on the way to full recovery'.

Bijlow and Geertruida

Justin Bijlow and Lutsharel Geertruida are also travelling with the Rotterdam selection. The duo were eliminated twelve days ago with the Dutch team at the European Championship – England was too strong with 1-2 – and have apparently had sufficient holiday.

Feyenoord officially kicks off the season on 4 August. PSV will be the opponent in the battle for the Johan Cruijff Shield. Six days later, Priske's men will play the first Eredivisie match of the season, at home against Willem II.

Full Feyenoord selection: Justin Bijlow, Bart Nieuwkoop, Thomas Beelen, Lutsharel Geertruida, Ramiz Zerrouki, Quinten Timber, Ayase Ueda, Calvin Stengs, Igor Paixão, Marcos Lopez, Luka Ivanusec, Julián Carranza, Gijs Smal, Timon Wellenreuther, Anis Hadj Moussa, Gjivai Zechiël, Leo Sauer, Givairo Read, Antoni Milambo, Neraysho Kasanwirjo, Santiago Gimenez, Ondrej Lingr, Dávid Hancko, Chris-Kévin Nadje, Marcus Pedersen, Mikki van Sas, Antef Tsoungui, Jan Plug, Mannou Berger, Djomar Giersthove.
