Napoli have officially strengthened themselves with Rafa Marín. I Partenopei proudly announce the arrival of the defender, who comes from Real Madrid. Napoli pay twelve million euros for the player who has completed the youth academy of the Royal passed through, but had never played a match for the first team before that.

The 22-year-old Marín, a centre-back by profession, was loaned to Deportivo Alavés last season. There, the man-marker born in Guadajoz was a regular in the number ten of last season in LaLiga.

Marín has started 27 of the 33 LaLiga games and impressed with his doggedness. “Only Sergio Ramos (112) has cleared more balls than Rafa Marín (85) in LaLiga in 2024,” Napoli shared an impressive statistic.

Marín was also the youngest player, after Cristhian Mosquera and Yan Couto, to make at least thirty appearances at the Spanish top level last season in LaLiga. Napoli were therefore quickly convinced of the Spaniard, who signed a five-year contract at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

It remains to be seen whether Marín will see out his contract, because despite the fact that Real Madrid has now chosen to let him go, there is confidence in the deal that the Madrilenians have concluded with the Neapolitans.

Sky Sport Italia has revealed the details of the transfer. Real Madrid can activate a buy-back clause worth 25 million in the summer of 2026, in the summer of 2027 the buy-back amount is 35 million.

However, if Napoli pay another ten million euros to Real Madrid in mid-2025, the transfer clause amounts will double to 50 and 70 million euros in the summers of 2026 and 2027 respectively.

Now that Real Madrid have sold Marín, the way is clear to complete the transfer of Leny Yoro from Lille OSC. The defender (18) is also in the strong interest of Manchester United, who have already seen his offer accepted by Lille. However, Yoro only wants one thing: Real Madrid.
