Johan Derksen is not exactly praising Turkey. The team of national coach Vincenzo Montella will face the Dutch national team in the quarter finals of the European Championship on Saturday at 9 p.m.

Wilfred Genee asks his dinner guests Today Inside the Dutch or the Netherlands will reach the semi-finals at the expense of Turkey. “Yes, of course,” answers René van der Gijp, after which Derksen adds: “That is no problem at all. They are inferior to the Romanians, I think.”

“It's a run-your-ass show. They do their utmost, but they don't pay attention to each other. It's not one team at any point. There's no cover at the back, you saw how that ball went in…”, he refers to Austria's equalizer in the round of 16 against Turkey (1-2).

Derksen's statement makes Genee laugh. “They are bunglers, if I hear it that way!” The moustache is adamant and thinks that Oranje is the top favorite. “In the first match (3-1 win over Georgia, ed.) Turkey played pretty nice football, after that they didn’t really achieve anything anymore.”

Turkey earned six points in the group stage and finished second on goal difference behind Portugal. After the victory over Georgia, they lost 0-3 to the Portuguese. In the last group match, they won 1-2 against the Czech Republic, who played seventy minutes with one man less due to a red card.

In the round of 16, Turkey proved to be just too strong for Austria. Defender Merih Demiral, who may be suspended for the match against the Dutch team because of his way of celebrating, scored twice from a corner kick. After the break, the Turks held on with all their might.
