FC Utrecht will strengthen itself in the foreseeable future with Miguel Rodríguez (21). The right winger of Celta de Vigo will be loaned to the Domstedelingen for one season, reports Football International. Rodríguez, who has already played 26 games in LaLiga, is already the seventh summer signing for Ron Jans' team.

After the departure of Othmane Boussaid, among others, Utrecht sought new impetus on the wings. With the arrival of Rodríguez, Jans has more choice up front.

Rodríguez is a youth product of Celta de Vigo, where he made his debut for the first team at the end of 2022. Since then, the Spanish youth international has collected 32 official appearances for the LaLiga club.

Rodríguez sees the Eredivisie as a suitable place to mature, and is therefore happy to make the switch. In addition to being a right winger, he can also be used as a left winger or false striker

This would also allow the right-footed player to serve as a direct replacement for Boussaid. The departed tastemaker usually operated from the left wing.

Utrecht had previously secured the arrival of Paxten Aaronson (Eintracht Frankfurt, loan), David Min (RKC Waalwijk), Siebe Horemans (Excelsior), Matisse Didden (Roda JC), Alonzo Engwanda (RSC Anderlecht) and Andreas Dithmer (FC Copenhagen).
