Arthur Zagré is ready for a step up after Excelsior's relegation from the Eredivisie. The left-footed defender of the Rotterdammers has already been linked to PSV, but the Eindhoven club does not seem to be in the market for Zagré at the moment.

“It will be good for me to take a step after last season, but only if a nice club comes along and it feels good,” Zagré said on Thursday after Excelsior's second training session on the way to the new season. General Daily Newspaper.

According to club watcher Rik Elfrink of the Eindhoven Daily Newspaper PSV is currently not working on the arrival of Zagré. “The Zagré story is not recognized around Eindhoven. Peter Bosz says that PSV will be using Fredrik Oppegard and Mauro Júnior on the left for the time being”, as can be read on X.

Zagré, a former French youth international, was linked to PSV due to the departure of Patrick van Aanholt. The veteran recently left Eindhoven on a free transfer. Despite this, Bosz does not seem keen to sign a replacement.

The 22-year-old wing defender arrived on loan at Excelsior in January 2023. Six months later, the Rotterdam club took over Zagré from AS Monaco. Whether he will stay in Kralingen longer is now the question.

Zagré played 33 matches for Excelsior last season. In the play-offs against NAC Breda, the left back received a red card, after which Excelsior lost 6-2. At home, they won 4-1, but that was not enough to avoid relegation.

Driouech

PSV and Excelsior are approaching an agreement on Couhaib Driouech, sources report. Eindhoven Daily NewspaperThe 22-year-old winger from IJmuiden will reportedly earn the relegated club an amount of around 3.5 million euros. Bonuses could increase the amount to 4 million euros. The Telegraph adds that Driouech has signed a five-season contract in Eindhoven.
