Latest update:

Marcus Pedersen's future does not seem to be with Feyenoord. The 23-year-old right back from Norway returned to Rotterdam-Zuid this summer after a loan spell at Sassuolo, but his agent José Enrique is actively offering him on the transfer market. This has been leaked because the Spanish agent made a big mistake via Instagram.

The 38-year-old Enrique is no stranger to football, having previously played as a left back for Valencia, Liverpool and Newcastle United. The Spaniard is now an agent and works for Team Raiola. It is clear that he still has a lot to learn at the world-famous agency.

Pedersen has been one of the players in Enrique's portfolio for a long time. This summer, the lightning-fast right-footer seems to be looking for a new employer, as is also evident from a message that his agent sent via Instagram.

The story goes like this: Enrique tried to approach Lecce coach Luca Gotti via Instagram, but did not realize that he was dealing with a fan account. Pedersen is not the only player offered to Gotti, as former Fortuna Sittard loanee Todd Cantwell (Rangers FC) was also mentioned as an interesting reinforcement for Lecce.

Enrique could not undo his mistake, because his sent dm spread rapidly via X. The agent has not yet responded to his mistake, although it is now clear to everyone that Cantwell and Pedersen are looking for a new employer.

Night candle

Feyenoord missed out on quite a few millions this summer due to Sassuolo's relegation from Serie A. The Italian club would take over Pedersen for 6 million euros excluding bonuses if he could stay on. Sassuolo ultimately failed to do so, which is why Pedersen is back at Feyenoord.

Pedersen's future does not seem to lie in Rotterdam. It was previously announced that he is no longer together with his Dutch ex-girlfriend and hockey player Noor Omrani. Transfer market estimates his current market value at around 5.5 million euros. Pedersen is still contracted to De Kuip until mid-2026.

Pedersen's adventure at Feyenoord threatens to fizzle out. The Rotterdammers brought him to the Netherlands in the summer of 2021. Pedersen, who can also play on the left flank, was acquired from Molde FK for 2 million euros.

In the two seasons that Pedersen played under trainer Arne Slot, he could almost always count on a starting place. The right-footed player played a total of 88 official matches for Feyenoord, in which he scored 1 goal and provided 7 assists. With the Rotterdam team, he managed to win the national championship in the Eredivisie in the 2022/23 season.
