The former Germany international hung up his boots in March last year and then focused on a career as a bodybuilder. Özil can be found in the gym every day and is now showing the results, and they are impressive. “One year of incredibly hard WORK,” he writes as a caption on Instagram with the photo.

Özil was always known for his delicate technique and as a somewhat frail footballer. Nowadays, however, you can no longer call him skinny.
