Carlo Ancelotti says he will watch Joey Veerman with a smile. The Real Madrid coach will be a guest on the broadcast of Monday evening Rondo and discusses, among other things, his successes at Real Madrid. He also responds to a joking proposal from presenter Wytse van der Goot to watch Veerman for Real Madrid.

Last week, Youri Mulder suggested Veerman as a possible successor to Toni Kroos at Real Madrid during the program Ziggo Sports. Van der Goot took those words with him to the interview with Ancelotti.

“Youri Mulder already suggested that Joey Veerman would be a good reinforcement for Real Madrid,” says the presenter in conversation with the birthday boy Ancelotti, who calls in via a video connection from Canada.

“A midfielder for the national team and PSV. A very good passer. Maybe you can take a look at it,” says Van der Goot. Ancelotti responds with a smile. “Haha okay. I'm going to look.”

Ancelotti was a guest partly because he is an acquaintance of Van Basten. The manager played with Van Basten in Milan for five years. “We still have a good connection. Better now than as players, because I got tired of having to pass the ball to him every time,” Ancelotti laughs.

The coach continues in all modesty to briefly discuss his recent successes the Royal. “It is difficult to say what the basis of my success is now. Players and their qualities come and go, but the structure, organization and history of the club do not change. Real Madrid is a fantastic club.”

“I am also lucky to train the best players in the world. I'm not saying it's easy, but it's easier than at other clubs. Real Madrid is a fantastic club. It is not difficult to be a manager there,” concludes the Italian.
