Several Dutch journalists see Joey Veerman as the absolute standout during the first half of the practice match between the Dutch national team and Iceland. Halfway through, the Dutch team leads 1-0 in De Kuip thanks to a goal by Xavi Simons.

Simons scored his first goal in the the Dutch shirt on Monday evening. The attacking midfielder needed fourteen international matches to find his liberating goal. The initiator was Denzel Dumfries, but the pass towards Dumfries was the best moment of the attack. The ball came from Veerman.

Halfway through, the journalists and analysts were very pleased with the performance of the PSV midfielder.
