There were disturbances after the Czech Cup final on Wednesday evening. Supporters of Viktoria Plzen and Sparta Prague (1-2) took to the field after the final whistle to confront each other.

The Czech Cup final was an exciting spectacle. Sparta took the lead ten minutes before the end through an own goal by Sampson Dweh, but saw that Plzen leveled the score in the final phase. Tomas Chory seemed to force an extension.

However, in the injury time of the match, it was Sparta Prague that took the lead once more and won through Veljko Birmancevic. The midfielder scored in minute 91 after a scramble in the enemy box.

Please note: the images below may be experienced as shocking:

When the final whistle blew not much later, Viktoria Plzen's fans could not contain their anger. Several hundred fans entered the field to confront the supporters of Sparta Prague.

Images on the internet show how masked men run to the other side of the field to provoke. Players try to calm the crowd, but are only partially successful.

Ultimately, the riot police succeed in driving both groups of supporters apart. It is not known whether anyone has been arrested.

For Sparta Prague it meant the eighth cup win in club history. The last time the club won the cup was in 2019/20.
