PSG does not need Kylian Mbappé to give Farioli a major CL hangover

Paris Saint-Germain won on Wednesday evening when they visited OGC Nice: 1-2. Trainer Luis Enrique was unable to access Kylian Mbappé in the south of France, who is suffering from a hamstring injury. The French champion was nevertheless able to add three points in the away match against the team of Francesco Farioli, the intended new trainer of Ajax. A few minutes later, PSG struck hard again. Yoram Zague scored from close range after a clever move on the left flank of the excellent Barcola.

Nice did not give up easily and reduced the deficit after half an hour of play. Mohamed-Ali Cho eventually hit the top corner, after PSG's tinkering in the build-up. Hope was back for the home club, although the champion from Paris remained dangerous on the counter. Barcola shot just wide and also hit the post.

Farioli's brigade suffered a new setback fifteen minutes before the end. Left back Melvin Bard receives a direct red card for a hard foul. Barcola hit the post shortly afterwards, keeping Nice alive. PSG breathed a sigh of relief when Hicham Boudaoui headed just wide in the 83rd minute.

The final phase in Nice was very attractive, with chances for both goals. Substitute Marco Asensio was prevented from scoring by goalkeeper Marcin Burka well into injury time. Despite the exciting final phase, PSG's victory was no longer in danger. The champion has now won 21 times in Ligue 1 and will end the season on Sunday when they visit FC Metz. Nice must definitely leave fourth place and a Champions League ticket to number four Stade Brest.
