It would not have made much difference if Feyenoord had had stiff competition in the battle for the signature of Anis Hadj-Moussa. The Rotterdam team announced the arrival of the Algerian on Wednesday, but according to Sacha Tavolieri (RMC Sports) Besiktas tried to hijack the deal at the last minute.
According to the Belgian journalist, the Turkish top club was prepared to pay 4.1 million euros for the wing attacker. In addition, Patro Eisden Maasmechelen would receive a resale percentage of five percent.
However, the deal did not go through, as Hadj-Moussa had already opted for Feyenoord. This decision by the current Vitesse player may be a hard blow for his Belgian employer.
Sources reported Football zone namely that Patro Eisden receives from Feyenoord an amount of 3.5 million euros, six thousand euros less than what Besiktas was reportedly willing to pay.
Despite the alleged interest from the Süper Lig club, Hadj-Moussa was presented by Feyenoord on Tuesday. The Algerian signed a contract for five seasons in South Rotterdam.
Arne Slot hopes this will solve a problem in the front line. The head coach has not been completely satisfied with his options on the flanks for some time and sees Hadj-Moussa as a reinforcement.
The latter may be considered the replacement for Alireza Jahanbakhsh. The Iranian has an expiring contract with Feyenoord and has not yet agreed a new contract.
