Latest update:

Liverpool is looking at the option of bringing Dean Huijsen to Anfield, writes the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport Thursday. However, Juventus, the owner of the eighteen-year-old centre-back, does not simply let the Amsterdammer leave for England. The Old lady would want at least 40 million euros for Huijsen, who will play for AS Roma on a rental basis this season.

Roma has been borrowing Huijsen from Juventus since the beginning of January for a rental fee of around 700,000 euros. The two-legged central defender will in principle return to Turin next summer, although Liverpool thinks differently. The Reds would love to take over Huijsen from Juventus, where he is contracted until mid-2028.

Transfer market estimates Huijsen's current market value at around 10 million euros, although Juventus logically does not agree to such an amount. The Italian superpower sees Huijsen as a potential top defender and wants at least 40 million euros in the event of an early departure from the Allianz Stadium.

Liverpool hopes to be able to get something off that asking price, but knows that Huijsen is also well marketed in Germany. Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig, among others, are closely followed, according to the tall man. In any case, Huijsen made quite an impression during his debut season in Serie A.

The Dutch-born defender, who recently opted for an international career with Spain, made his debut in Juventus' main squad at the end of October. Since his loan transfer to Roma, Huijsen has played twelve times on behalf of i Giallorossi. The defender is not only very strong defensively, but has also scored twice and provided an assist.

Attracting Huijsen, who came over from Málaga CF in 2021 for 470,000 euros, appears to be a golden move for Juve. According to the pink sports newspaper, the current number three in Serie A can also earn a lot from another center defender. Manchester United would be willing to pay the lump sum in Gleison Bremer's contract (60 million euros). La Gazzetta mentions a total amount of 100 million euros that Juventus can earn from the sale of the two defensive forces alone.

The two-time Champions League winner would take into account that at least one center back will leave the club. Juventus itself is therefore also looking for defensive reinforcements. Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori is high on the list in Turin.
