Anton Gaeei has removed all posts from his Instagram account, Mike Verweij noted during Ajax's press conference. Immediately after the 2-0 defeat to AZ, the right back took his photos offline, because they became the target of hate messages.

In the 35th minute, Gaaei lost the ball in a very dangerous spot after a corner kick from Ajax. As a result, AZ stormed to Ajax's goal three-on-one. Kenneth Taylor was able to avoid the counter with a sliding slide and burst into anger.

Van 't Schip had seen enough and brought in Kaplan. Devyne Rensch therefore moved from the center of the defense to the right back spot.

Gaaei immediately had to pay the price on Instagram afterwards, which is why he decided to take his posts offline. When Verweij confronts trainer John van 't Schip with the news, the latter reacts disappointed.

“He deleted Instagram because of all the hate he's getting. What do you think about all the anger and frustration being directed at him?†Verweij asks at the press conference.

“I find it very annoying,” Van ‘t Schip responds. “Unfortunately, this is happening on social media these days. It is my responsibility to set it up and take it down. I think it's very annoying for him.â€

“It’s definitely not what I would want, but he piled up a number of mistakes. So that's why we felt it was necessary to take it off. Otherwise we would have been asked why it was not removed sooner. Very, very annoying for Anton, because you wouldn't wish this on anyone,' says Van 't Schip.
