Peter Bosz looks back on PSV's 1-5 victory over FC Volendam with moderate satisfaction. The coach is positive about the way his team presented itself in the second half, but the game in the first act was disappointing. Bosz also comments on the performances of Isaac Babadi and Johan Bakayoko.

The Eindhoven team started off with an extremely difficult time when they visited FC Volendam, but ultimately managed to reverse that deficit. Thanks to goals from Ismael Saibari, Jerdy Schouten, Jordan Teze, Ricardo Pepi and Babadi, the score was 1-5 in the Kras Stadium.

“It was very difficult today,” Bosz concluded in front of the camera afterwards ESPN. “That had to do with the fact that we were not good, while Volendam did well. We had to play in a small space and our solutions were static.”

“We scored fairly quickly after falling behind. And it often helps in the second half if you let the opponent run a lot in the first half. Maybe we also got more used to the artificial grass, so it was a lot easier in the second half.”

“But it's mainly in the little things. I told Bakayoko that I thought he played the ball far too much and did not look for depth enough,” emphasizes Bosz, who looks at goalscorer Babadi with mixed feelings.

“And how Babadi came in? He gave birth, but not with everything. He was a reasonable fit, yes. I liked that he kept it simple, because it is clear that he can play football well. He has to know when to play simple, and that was good.”

“But he also has to make some and he has to put some just in front of the goalkeeper. Moreover, he had an unnecessary ball with the outside right. He came in really well, but then sometimes he does strange things. And that has to come out,” says Bosz.
