Brian Brobbey recently became part of the Club of 100 at Ajax. In conversation with the club's own channel, the 22-year-old striker looks back on his first hundred official matches in Amsterdam. Brobbey played with many good players, but especially learned a lot from Dusan Tadic.

Brobbey ends up in an illustrious list at Ajax. Sjaak Swart played the most official matches (603). One of his teammates who also belongs to the Club of 100 is Steven Berghuis.

“It's nice to hang next to Berghuis,” says Brobbey. “I hope that Kenneth (Taylor, ed.) also reaches a hundred, that's all I can give him. But he'll get there anyway. It makes me feel beautiful and proud.” Taylor currently has 95 games in Amsterdam service.

In the matches that Brobbey has played for Ajax, he played together with high-quality players. When asked who was his best teammate over the years, Brobbey doesn't have to think long.

“I've played with a lot of good players, but I think Dusan. A true leader. I talked to him many times about how to run for the goal. Then, for example, he showed me images of Mitrovic, his teammate in Serbia.”

In the past, Brobbey has also benefited greatly from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, whom he describes as 'his mentor'. “We went to watch images every time. I learned from him that I sometimes have to be in an offside position for the crosses,” says the born Amsterdammer.

Brobbey has played 104 games in the Ajax shirt so far, scoring 44 times and providing 12 assists. This season he has already found the net 17 times. Brobbey notices that he is in a good flow.

“I score goals and am important to the team. I often play good matches, but sometimes you don't score a goal. Then people immediately start to look completely differently. Sometimes that is annoying, because sometimes you play a great match and people say that it didn't go so well because you didn't score,” said Brobbey.
