Girona has not managed to take over the top position in LaLiga from Real Madrid. The Catalans drew at home against Real Sociedad: 0-0. A disappointing result for Girona, which now has 56 points after 23 matches. Real Madrid, which has 57 points, has also played one game less. Thanks to the draw, Sociedad is consolidated in sixth place.

Particularities:
Girona quickly went on the hunt for the opening goal and it almost came via Viktor Tsygankov, who barely saw his free kick saved by Álex Remiro. The Real Sociedad goalkeeper was beaten moments later, but Sávio's goal was canceled due to offside. The same thing happened to Mikel Oyarzabal on the other side.
