Jesse Lingard, if you can believe various British media, is on the eve of a particularly remarkable new adventure. The transfer-free Englishman will most likely continue his career at FC Seoul in South Korea, where he can sign a multi-year contract.

Among other Sky Sports reports the upcoming transfer. “Former Manchester United winger Jesse Lingard is on the verge of one shock move to South Korea's FC Seoul,” writes the British medium.

The midfielder and forward can sign a two-year contract in the Korea National League, with the option for another season. Lingard and FC Seoul will reportedly complete the transfer after the weekend.

This ends the transfer-free status of the 31-year-old Briton after more than six months. In the summer of 2023, Lingard left Nottingham Forest, where he was under contract for one season at that time.

FC Seoul was not the only candidate for the signature of the 32-time England international. He spent some time on trial at Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq, but ultimately did not sign a contract in Saudi Arabia.

According to Sky Sports Lingard could also opt for a departure to Turkey, although the medium does not mention which Turkish club was in the market for the Manchester United youth product. Ultimately, the choice fell on FC Seoul.

This will be Lingard's first employment outside England. The right winger was previously under contract with Manchester United, Leicester City, Birmingham City, Brighton & Hove Albion, Derby County, West Ham United and Nottingham Forest.
