Jens Odgaard has probably played his last match for AZ. Football International reports on Tuesday that the rush hour is on its way to Bologna. The Alkmaarders want to compensate for the interim departure of Odgaard with the arrival of Lequincio Zeefuik, who is having a strong season at FC Volendam.

AZ and Bologna are currently discussing a rental deal with an option to purchase. The transfer fee is expected to amount to five million euros. Odgaard, who is in Alkmaar until mid-2027, would like to move to the Serie A club. The medical examination will be scheduled shortly.

Odgaard was taken over by AZ from Sassuolo a year and a half ago and the Danish striker has scored 14 goals in 71 games. The 24-year-old attacker previously played in the Netherlands for RKC Waalwijk and sc Heerenveen.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported last weekend that Odgaard had appeared on Bologna's radar. The Italians were considering a rental structure in which Sydney van Hooijdonk should be involved in an exchange deal.

However, it is now clear that Van Hooijdonk is facing a switch to Norwich City. The Championship club and Bologna, where the 23-year-old Breda native is under contract until the summer of 2025, are approaching an agreement on a rental deal with an option to purchase that is 'very likely to be exercised'.

Due to Odgaard's impending departure, AZ wants to bring Zeefuik to Alkmaar now, and not just in the summer, as was originally intended. In that case, Volendam will still have something left over from the departure of the nineteen-year-old striker, who has an expiring contract.

Zeefuik was recently showered with praise Today Inside. “I've seen that boy score two goals, Pepi doesn't score like that,” said René van der Gijp. “That header against Heracles, how he heads that ball into the intersection, unbelievable. That little guy is nineteen years old, come on man.”

“You think this is a great talent?” asked presenter Wilfred Genee affirmatively. “Yeah, sure man.” Valentijn Driessen, also a guest in the talk show, is also impressed by Zeefuik. “That boy does a lot of unexpected things.”
