The KNVB has blocked a total of 300 tickets for the European Championship qualifier between the Netherlands and Ireland next Saturday. The Football Association has determined with certainty that the tickets have been resold.

The blockade is part of the KNVB’s fight against black marketing in football tickets. Several tickets have also been declared invalid for the home games against Greece (3-0 win) and France (1-2 loss).

The KNVB is itself investigating the black market in match tickets. As soon as it is determined that a ticket has been resold, the football association will block it. The KNVB states that the active policy is having an effect: the number of tickets offered continues to decrease.

Match tickets for the Dutch national team are only sold through the official ticket shop of the KNVB, the association emphasizes. Tickets offered through other platforms such as Marktplaats or Viagogo may be declared invalid.

The KNVB explicitly warns football fans: “If you have obtained your tickets through another channel, you run the risk that a) you pay too much and b) the tickets are blocked so that you cannot enter the stadium.”

“If this is the case and there are still tickets available, you can buy new tickets at the normal rate. You must always reclaim the money you paid for the blocked tickets from the organization where you purchased the tickets,” it writes. the KNVB.

The match between the Dutch and the Irish will be played on Saturday from 8:45 PM in the sold-out Johan Cruijff ArenA. If they win, the Netherlands will officially be qualified for the European Championships next summer. Next Tuesday, the Dutch team will play the final match in the qualifying campaign in Faro, Portugal, where the away match against Gibraltar is scheduled.
