Feyenoord’s line-up for the Champions League match with Celtic is known. Trainer Arne Slot does not have Santiago Giménez and Ayase Ueda at his disposal, so he opts for Yankuba Minteh at the point of the attack. The match in De Kuip starts at 9:00 PM and can be seen at RTL 7 and Ziggo Sports Football.

Timon Wellenreuther defends the Rotterdam goal. The closing post sees Lutsharel Geertruida, Gernot Trauner, Dávid Hancko and Quilindschy Hartman in front of them. Quinten Timber and Mats Wieffer are the controllers in midfield, while Calvin Stengs is posted at 10. Occasional striker Minteh is flanked by Igor Paixão (right) and Luka Ivanusec (left).

Feyenoord recorded a clear victory over SC Heerenveen (6-1) at the weekend and is therefore looking forward to the match against Celtic with great confidence. Slot has known for some time that he will not have access to Giménez (suspended) and Ueda (injured) and more or less announced at the press conference on Monday that Minteh would start. “I think everyone sitting here knows who will be in the team. Then there are three players up front, all three of whom can play as a striker, all three of whom can play left winger and two of the three can also play right winger.”

Just like Feyenoord, Celtic also gained the necessary confidence during the weekend. Dundee FC was sidelined by three goals after the break (3-0). “Any team at this level will be a tough opponent,” manager Brendan Rodgers said at the press conference. “Feyenoord is champion of the Netherlands and has a great history in this country. We know what challenge awaits us, but we are looking forward to it.” The Feyenoord – Celtic poster is known as the final of the European Cup I in 1970, which the Rotterdam team won 2-1, making Feyenoord the first Dutch club to win the highest European club prize.

Celtic line-up: Heart; Johnston, Lagerbielke, Scales, Taylor; O’Riley, McGregor, Palma; Hatate, Furuhashi, Maeda.
