Atlético Madrid won LaLiga for the fifth time in a row on Sunday. Diego Simeone’s team scored a 1-2 win at fellow townsman Rayo Vallecano thanks to early goals from Nahuel Molina and Mario Hermoso. Atlético dedicated the victory to Ángel Correa, who lost his mother this week to cancer and was therefore absent. His number 10 shirt was hoisted in the air by the players as a tribute.

Particularities:
Atlético managed to decide the game with goals in minutes 22 and 24. The opening goal came from a lightning-fast counter. Álvaro Morata managed to pass the ball through half a block to the free Nahuel Molina, who coolly finished: 0-1. Two minutes later, Mario Hermoso headed in from a Yannick Carrasco corner kick. After more than an hour of play, Rayo Vallecano had to continue with ten men, when the broken Morata was grabbed by Florian Lejeune: red card. The home team still managed to score, and how: Fran García left goalkeeper Jan Oblak with a diagonally low shot from a distance completely without a chance: 1-2.
