Fenerbahçe has finished second in the Süper Lig this season. In the last league game at Malatyaspor, the Yellow Canaries enough to keep the spot it already had, which entitles it to the second qualifying round of the Champions League. Fener even outperformed that and claimed a solid 0-5 victory. Last season’s national champion Besiktas concluded the season in a striking way by drawing 1-1 at home against number three Konyaspor and finishing seventh.

Three minutes before half time, Amar Rahmanovic sent Konrad Michalak away on the left with a deep ball, after which the midfielder himself sprinted towards the box. Completely overlooked by the home side’s defense, Rahmanovic arrived just in time to tap in Michalak’s cross. The visitors seemed to hold onto that score until the final whistle, until Kenan Karaman’s header didn’t end Besiktas’ season completely on a negative note.
