Quinten Timber is in the serious interest of PSV, reports Football International† The twenty-year-old midfielder has made an excellent impression this season at FC Utrecht, which took him away from Ajax on a free transfer, and has also unnamed ‘big clubs’ from abroad after him. PSV is ’emphatically’ thinking of Timber in case Ibrahim Sangaré is sold, or so it sounds.

John de Jong, technical manager of PSV, was in the stands in De Galgenwaard last Saturday during FC Utrecht – NEC (1-0). Timber once again made an excellent impression in the midfield of the Domstedelingen and played an emphatic role in the attacking threat of his team. Timber himself had two excellent opportunities, at least one of which should have been used, the midfielder himself admitted afterwards. “I should have scored myself to make it a little easier,” Timber said in front of the camera at ESPN

FC Utrecht made a golden move last summer by stealing the youngster from Ajax. Where his twin brother Jurriën already had a base place at that time, Quinten Timber never once got a chance from Erik ten Hag, as a result of which he never made his debut with Ajax. This season Quinten Timber has been on the field 29 times in an official match for FC Utrecht, in which he produced 2 goals and 4 assists. “It has to get better, and I’m working on it,” Timber said on Saturday about his return. “In youth, my finish was unstable. I have a good shot, in training it is often good, now in the matches. You see how often I come in the sixteen and get the chance, then you just want it good to do.”

Timber is in Utrecht until mid-2024, but the number seven in the Eredivisie is already seriously considering a departure, the aforementioned weekly magazine knows. PSV already brought in Joey Veerman in January as a reinforcement in midfield and sees Timber as a possible successor to Sangaré. The latter is emphatically followed by Aston Villa, Leicester City and Newcastle United and could take the top prize.
