Bart Ramselaar has suffered a serious knee injury, FC Utrecht announced via the official club channels. The midfielder dropped out of training last week and was already missing against NEC on Saturday (1-0 win). Now further investigation shows that it is a serious knee injury, as a result of which Ramselaar played his last game of the season. Because Ramselaar has been out of circulation for months, he has to put an end to his desired transfer abroad for the time being.

Ramselaar gave in conversation with Football International still want to make a transfer abroad after this season. “Whether it’s Spain, Italy, England, France, Germany or Belgium,” said the midfielder. “That’s what I’m hoping for. A sub-topper in a great competition or the top six in Belgium. Just something new. I also want to discover a different competition, play in other stadiums.”

Now that dream seems to be falling apart for the time being. Ramselaar is licking his wounds after the news. “It is very sour that my most productive season ever comes to an early end in this way”, 25-year-old Ramselaar says on the FC Utrecht site. “I wanted nothing more than in the coming weeks, when the decisions are made. are important to the team. Now I have no choice but to fully focus on my rehabilitation, so that I can make my contribution to the team as soon as possible.”

FC Utrecht is almost certain of participating in the play-offs due to the victory over NEC on Friday evening. Ramselaar is the club’s top scorer with the Domstedelingen with nine goals, and has therefore made a significant contribution to Utrecht’s performance. Now the team of interim coach Rick Kruys has to continue in the battle for European football without Ramselaar.
