The chief officer of the Public Prosecution Service North Netherlands has decided to initiate an investigation into the statements made by Johan Derksen in the last two broadcasts of Today Inside. The Public Prosecution Service announced this in a press release on Thursday afternoon. In the broadcast, Johan Derksen seemed to confess sexual misconduct.

“The investigation is aimed at finding the truth of possible criminal behavior that was discussed in that program,” reports the Public Prosecution Service. “We also call on those involved, as far as possible, to tell their story. It is clear that this is highly unacceptable behavior that is unacceptable. The way in which it is discussed in the TV program is also particularly hurtful. .”

“This can also deeply affect victims of sexual offenses after a long time,” emphasizes the Public Prosecution Service. “The results of the investigation will be assessed by the Public Prosecution Service for their criminal law relevance. We must take into account limitation periods. Those periods depend on the nature, context and time at which a criminal offense was allegedly committed.”

Derksen appeared to say on Tuesday that he penetrated a woman with a candle in his younger years, although he said on Wednesday that there was no penetration. He said the candle was “perpendicular to the sky” and not in the woman’s vagina. The incident is said to have occurred when he was 24 years old. “It was such a thousand-hour candle, it stands on such a pedestal, a very large thing. We took it, the lady was lying on the couch and we put it between her legs. When we left, that candle was perpendicular up in the air. You can’t put a thousand-hour candle in a vagina. There’s no such thing.”

Derksen was on the road with ‘the keeper of Veendam’ and ‘two misses’. “This is a very dirty story, but such things happened,” the football analyst said on Tuesday. “I was out with the keeper of Veendam and two ladies. We were drunk and went to their house. Those ladies were so drunk that they puked all over us. I’m not proud of it, but things like that happen when you young: we left and that lady was lying unconscious on a couch, there was such a big candle, we put it in it and we left. You would now get a prison sentence for that.”
