Roy Keane is rocking hard for Manchester United after their 4-0 defeat to Liverpool. The former midfielder mentions Jesse Lingard and Harry Maguire in his analysis for Sky Sports ‘not good enough’ for the British superpower. Furthermore, Keane found Marcus Rashford to play ‘like a child’ at Anfield.

“There is simply no quality, so this result is no surprise,” Keane begins. “In two games you lose 9-0 (at Old Trafford the mutual game ended in 0-5, ed.) to Liverpool, you don’t score a single goal. I’m not even angry anymore, I’m more disappointed with the state of the club. If you look at the club management, the situation with the manager, the player policy of recent years: they are so far away from what you want at a top club. There is no leadership, there are no characters. Everything is crumbling, it will be a very long way back.”

“There is no fighting spirit, no determination. This is a completely different club than the Manchester United I played for, there was a certain pride then,” continues the former midfielder, who played for Manchester United between 1993 and 2005. “It’s not a team. Individually they are good players, if they feel like it. But when the going gets tough… They don’t have the team spirit you need. This Manchester United also lacks talent. They are not as talented as they think.”

“Jesse Lingard comes on to save Manchester United… He should have left Manchester United two years ago, he is not good enough. Rashford played up front as a kid. Okay, he didn’t get too many balls. There were also moments in the first half where you thought he could get in front of goal, but his starting was too bad,” Keane concludes. Lingard came in after nine minutes as a replacement for the injured Paul Pogba. Rashford completed the ninety minutes in the team of interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

“The passing and defense of Maguire on the last goal against: unacceptable. He is not good enough for Manchester United. There is talk of a renovation. They need to get players with quality, who are talented. It’s unbelievable that Manchester United are now playing for fifth or sixth place,” Keane sighs. “Manchester United have always had great characters. Robson, Pallister, Bruce, Ince, Beckham, Giggs: we didn’t win every week, but we gave everything for the club and hoped that our talent would win us over.”

“This team has no soul. Even the interviews afterwards, even though I know this is difficult. They talk like robots, there is no emotion or pride for Manchester United. What is the culture with the young players? Who is helping them? “I’ve never heard of so many players wanting to leave Manchester United. In my time you wanted nothing more than to play for Manchester United, it was the best club in the world. There are now six or seven who have their heads elsewhere already Even the manager and his staff are already on holiday,” Keane concluded. Manchester United are currently sixth in the Premier League, four points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
