Donny van de Beek has not been given enough opportunities in the first team at Manchester United, according to former assistant coach Michael Carrick. The 24-year-old midfielder could not count on a base place under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and interim manager Ralf Rangnick this season and left for Everton on a rental basis during the winter transfer window.

Since his move to Everton, van de de Beek has seen much more regular action and has received rave reviews from his manager Frank Lampard.
