Feyenoord has announced the line-up for the home match against SC Cambuur. Arne Slot has found his favorite starting eleven and is sticking to the players who also started in the last two matches. Kick-off is at 2.30 pm in De Kuip.
Slot therefore again prefers Lutsharel Geertruida over Marcus Holmgren Pedersen with regard to the right back position of Feyenoord. The visitors from Rotterdam will continue to perform in Waalwijk with the familiar names. Many eyes will once again be on Orkun Kökcü, who has been the great pacesetter in Feyenoord’s midfield in recent weeks together with Fredrik Aursnes, leaving Jens Toornstra on the reserve bench.
Cyriel Dessers and Reiss Nelson will not be part of the game against Cambuur on Sunday afternoon, Slot announced during last Friday’s press conference. They were injured last week during the 5-1 lost practice match against Anderlecht, in which Feyenoord also took the lead with youth players and the second choice. “Nelson already lost weight before the game during the last practice,” Slot said. “Dessers was injured during the game. I don’t expect either of them to be present on Sunday.”
Feyenoord must book its fourth win in a row against Cambuur to keep AZ behind by six points. The team of trainer Henk de Jong did not win in 2022. The earlier meeting this season between Cambuur and Feyenoord in Leeuwarden ended in a 2-3 victory for the Rotterdam team.
