Dusan Vlahovic is officially the new striker of Juventus. The Italian superpower has reached an agreement with Fiorentina about the transfer of the 22-year-old attacker. Vlahovic will earn a net annual salary of seven million euros in Turin. In total, the deal is worth 150 million euros. In addition to the transfer fee of at least seventy million, fifteen million will also go to Vlahovic’s agent. The Serb signs a contract until mid-2026 la Vecchia Signora.

The transfer from Vlahovic to Juventus gained momentum at the beginning of this week, when it turned out that Juventus was willing to pay 70 million euros for the goal machine. Vlahovic soon set his sights on a transfer to Turin and reached an agreement in principle with his new employer on Monday. Vlahovic was missing in the league match against Cagliari (1-1) last Sunday, further fueling transfer rumors about his person. Fiorentina stated that Vlahovic had tested positive for corona.

Fiorentina was willing to cooperate with Vlahovic’s departure, but was keen to keep the striker in Florence until the summer to achieve European football. Vlahovic also had that intention. La Viola however, then bet on an asking price of seventy million euros and watched Juventus bite. Partly due to the loss of Federico Chiesa, who tore his cruciate ligament, Juventus was urgently looking for offensive reinforcements. With 33 Serie A goals in the past calendar year, Vlahovic has become one of the most wanted strikers in the European fields.

The striker has scored 20 times in 24 official matches for Fiorentina this season. He had his breakthrough in the 2018-19 season, when he made ten appearances in Serie A. After scoring 21 goals in 37 league games last year, the counter currently stands at 17 goals from 21 matches. In addition, Vlahovic managed to score three times in three matches in the cup tournament. The Serb has been presenting staggering figures in recent years and is, together with Cristiano Ronaldo, the ‘calendar year top scorer’ of the 21st century in the Italian league. So far, he has worn the national team shirt 14 times. In it he managed to find the net 7 times.

Vlahovic’s contract with Fiorentina expired in mid-2023. The attacker has already hinted that he does not want to renew that contract. Fiorentina, in turn, was convinced it had made a legitimate offer. “People should recognize an environment that has brought them so much. Our proposal has continuously gone up, but at some point the limit has been reached,” said CEO Joe Barone. “This club used to have a turnover of 90 million euros. Due to the pandemic, there is still 72 million left, we have to take that into account. There are limits.”
