Mohamed Ihattaren will no longer be seen in Sampdoria’s shirt this season, assures The Telegraph. The midfielder was taken over from PSV by Juventus last summer and on loan to Sampdoria, but he was only on the bench for one game at the latter club. Juventus is now looking for another solution for Ihattaren, which also includes a rental to a Dutch club.

Ihattaren currently seems to be working with a personal trainer in Utrecht. BestPersonalSportskills shared a photo on Instagram in November of the nineteen-year-old attacking midfielder posing with owner Jordy Best. At the moment, Ihattaren is still under contract with Sampdoria, which rents him from Juventus until mid-2022. According to The Telegraph However, that rental period will come to an end, as Juventus have admitted to having made a mistake by renting him out directly. The midfielder was on the bench only once at Sampdoria, against Internazionale. He then returned to the Netherlands to be with his family.

Agent Mino Raiola, whom Ihattaren recently broke up with, expressed concerns in December about his former client at Studio Football. “How is Mohamed Ihattaren doing now that he has run away? Well, he didn’t run away. Everyone is free to leave, because they are not prisoners, are they. So I hope he finds himself again and above all that he finds the happiness to play football again. I no longer have contact with him. I’m worried too, yes. He’s having a hard time. The mental side is often not discussed in a discussion, and you have to be careful about that. I just hope he finds his way back with his new team and his new environment. He’s a fantastic footballer and a fantastic boy and I hope he ends up well.”

The Telegraph writes that the eighteen-year-old midfielder will probably not be included in the selection of Juventus and that the club is looking for another solution. A rental to a Dutch club is also one of those possibilities, it sounds like. The midfielder made the switch from PSV to Juventus on the last day of the transfer window last summer, after his situation in Eindhoven started to become hopeless after several collisions with trainer Roger Schmidt. The Italian top club paid a total of 1.9 million euros for Ihattaren, a financial report revealed. That amount can increase on the basis of two conditional bonuses.
