The winners of the individual Bronze Championship shields of the second period of the season in the Kitchen Champion Division have been announced. FC Volendam striker Robert Mühren was voted the best player of the second period, while Nick Olij received the prize for the best goalkeeper. The other individual prize winners are Sem Steijn (best talent), John Heitinga (best trainer) and Thijs Dallinga (top scorer).
The results of the election for best player and best keeper are based on votes from the trainers and captains of all Keuken Kampioen Divisional clubs and on votes from the supporters. Mühren collected the most votes and therefore receives a Bronze Championship shield for the eighth time in his career. The Volendam striker was ahead of Thomas Verheydt, Joey Sleegers and Naci Ünüvar in the election.
Olij has therefore been chosen as the best goalkeeper of the second period. The goalkeeper of NAC Breda stayed ahead of competitors Jay Gorter, Michael Brouwer and Luuk Koopmans in the election and can therefore receive the prize for the third time in his career. In the two previous seasons, Olij also won two Bronze Championship shields.
In addition to the honorary titles of best player and best goalkeeper, there are also Bronze Championship shields to be divided into the categories of best talent and best trainer. Sem Steijn was chosen by trainers and captains as the best talent of the second period on the basis of his performances during this period. The twenty-year-old midfielder of ADO Den Haag managed to impress the trainers and captains of the Keuken Kampioen Division clubs.
The Bronze Championship Shield for best trainer was won by Heitinga. The former international and current coach of Jong Ajax had an excellent second period with the Amsterdam promises. In the final phase of the last round of play, Jong Ajax missed out on the period title, but the overall performance did not go unnoticed by his fellow trainers and captains from the Kitchen Champion Division. Thijs Dallinga can receive his third Bronze Championship shield of the season. The striker of Excelsior Rotterdam is experiencing an unprecedentedly productive season and has become top scorer of the second period with thirteen goals. Dallinga was also top scorer in the first period.
