Borussia Dortmund has a personal agreement with Karim Adeyemi, it knows BILD. The nineteen-year-old striker must come over from Red Bull Salzburg for a record amount next summer, when Erling Braut Haaland will most likely leave. BVB is still arguing with the Austrian top club about the transfer fee to be paid. Adeyemi has agreed on a five-year contract in Dortmund.

Adeyemi is seen as one of the greatest attacking talents on the European fields. The three-time German international has also been linked to Barcelona, but is unaffordable for the penniless Catalans. Dortmund does have the necessary resources and, according to BILD made an offer of 35 million euros. However, Salzburg is betting on an amount of 40 million euros.

Dortmund’s emphatic interest in Adeyemi has long been no secret. “Adeyemi is a great German talent,” sporting director Michael Zorc recently told BILD. “He has tremendous speed and in general has a very interesting profile.” This would make Adeyemi the ideal successor to Haaland, who also has that specific quality.

Adeyemi was discovered by the scouting of Red Bull Salzburg at the age of sixteen at the SpVgg Unterhaching, which received just over three million euros in 2018 for the youngster. Adeyemi has been the undisputed first striker of Salzburg since this season and has a creditable production of 15 goals and 3 assists in 27 official matches this football year. Three goals and two preparatory passes of those came from six group matches in the Champions League.
